What a fun make so far! Alderwood Studios released this beautiful block of the month for this Fair Isle Forest Quilt.
January and February included the patterns to make the mushroom meadow and fair isle row. I can’t wait to start on the next row.
Some things I learned while making this:
- Need to work on my scant quarter inch more consistent.
- Paying better attention to direction of the pattern. There are a lot of parts where half the pieces done in one direction and then other half a mirror. I wasn’t paying attention and at least twice I just plowed through and sewed all the pieces facing the same way! Luckily I have plenty of fabric.
- Just paying attention overall to how these rows fit and align with one another. I think my more consistent scant quarter inch seams will help with that.
- Totally worth the time to cut the pieces down to size!!
